Pirate ride questions

Describe reaction: I honestly thought it was pretty cool. I don't remember much from the florida Pirates of the Caribbean ride, but I remember it not being as cool as this one. I really liked how believable the screens with the images were – they were incorporated very well into the ride. I also loved that if felt interactive in parts, such as cannons flying in the water when the two ships were firing at each other. Having components such as these (in which the the things that happen aren't just off to the sides) is an integral part in making the ride unique and fun. The mix between computer and animatronic was also very well balanced What connections did you make with the work? Discuss elements that you were able to connect: I connected to the work through its fantastical elements. Pirates of the Caribbean is known to have fantastical material in it, but the ride really made use of what the movies showed. For example: the ride depicted mermaids, Davy Jones' crew,

Wakanda has opened to the public for the first time ever, allowing visitors from all over the world to tour and educate. However some groups in Wakanda are more reluctant to breaking tradition, which may lead to uprising and unrest... Our park is an indoor dome made to appear as a forest on the outside-  similar to how Wakanda is hidden in plain sight. Inside, it is sectioned in four different areas corresponding to the main tribes of Wakanda – the center being a city area where all the tribes converge. When entering, the visitor will see the cave entrance to the Vibranium mine, which is in the shape of a giant black panther. This will be the entrance to the park's largest attraction and its "weenie". It is stationed in the opposite of the entrance, but is able to be seen upon arrival due to it's elevation, massiveness, and wow-f

Architecture

"The Built Environment" Structures are built "as needed" around the cliffs. The structures are built on top of the rocks, usually from around the middle towards the top. Small structures are built on top of the cliffs, but not much at all. Topography is important, they preserve as much as possible. There are pulley and rope systems that let the Altumiums go up and down the cliffs. There are small paths made up on top of the cliffs towards "safe" areas where the gatherers go to gather materials (fruit, plants, wood, stone). Homes are also situated inside of the cliffs, as well as temples and places of storage. The storage area is where the people get their supplies and food Green space is all around them, as the natural environment is very important to them. The tops of the cliffs especially is an expansive green space. Commercial structures are pretty much nonexistent (aside from like a small tourist shop set up by the foreigners ) Leisure build

Sociology

Sociology Conformist - most of the people in Altum are conformists. Because of the way the society is cultivated and how the younglings are raised, conformism is encouraged to aid in the betterment of the community. Innovator - the very early Altumiums split into two "clans". The Altumiums that wanted to travel and find new resources for their people are considered innovators Rebel - probably one or two Altumiums -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What kind of deviant is your world? Anthropology

Anthropology - Imagining Cultures Write a Xenology Report Family Structure: What's a family? Who are kin? What is marriage and its arrangement? - Tend to rely more on cliques of sorts, groups in which people take care of each other and their young – there isn't necessarily the "nuclear" family that our society is used to. - May be blood related, and may not - Marriage as the concept we know isn't a part of this culture. There are mated, monogamous pairs however Sexual Regulations: Who can consent? What is incest? - Usually find pair from separate group? - I'll come back to this Body decoration and clothing: Describe? - Clothing made from skins and pelts of animals on the clifftops are provided but not exactly necessary – the climate is always warm, but useful for those that travel to the colder areas - Decorations scavenged from ocean materials are worn to signify roles in society (ex: hunter, medic, artisan) Material culture: manners, holid

Planet Description

Image
"Altum" In a quadrant of the universe familiar to locals as the Omega Cloud, is the galaxy Messier 63 – however, it is most commonly referred to as the "Sunflower Galaxy". At the outskirts of said galaxy are seven planets all rotating around a large, yellow sun by the name of "Scatha". The only one with any sort of life forms is a humbly sized planet in a perpetual state of frost – at least only half of it. Due to its complete horizontal tilt, the dark side of the planet is constantly frozen with life only sustained on the edges where the frozen Islands of Idanium reside. Unlike the wintery lands, the other half is usually sunny and very warm, being able to preserve many types of creatures (both and land and water). The close moon is what gives this planet its name of "Altum", for the intense tides create high cliffs when the tide is low. On the surface, the land masses consist of mountains and cliffs, and the tops are lush with plant and

Planet Thoughts

Planet: My planet consists of around 80% water, half of it frozen. It's on a complete horizontal axis, so the back side of the planet is in a constant state of winter – always ice, and always in complete darkness. On the other side is perpetual summer, very warm and sunny. The planet's close moon creates intense tides that can create large cliffs when the tide is low. On the surface, the land masses are mountainous and for most of the time, extremely tall cliffs. The tops of the cliffs are lush with different sorts of plant life and creatures. Large spires come out of the water, the tops identify them as giant types of conch shells. When the water rises, many of them are obscured underwater. Life is abundant in both the land and water on the front side of the planet. The frozen half has very little to possibly no life at all. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- has to be a goldilocks
